Day By Day Itinerary

Amboseli National Park

Located in the southern reaches of Kenya, the Amboseli National Park is renowned for its excellent variety of wildlife such as Maasai giraffe, elephant, lion and cheetah and not surprisingly it is one of Kenya's most popular parks. The landscape of Amboseli is dominated by the majestic snowcap of Mount Kilimanjaro, as well as open plains, acacia woodland, swamps and the massif of Ol Doinyo Orok. The birding is excellent, especially closer to the lakes and swamps. The park is famous for being the best place in Africa to get close to large herds of elephants among other wildlife species. Other attractions include opportunities to meet the Maasai people and soak up spectacular views of Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest free-standing mountain in the world.

Day Itinerary

Pick up from either Airport or at your hotel in Nairobi and depart for a scenic drive to Amboseli National Park, set the the foot of the magnificent Mount Kilimanjaro. Amboseli National Park has a prolific population of elephants. Arrive at the lodge in time for lunch.

Have your Lunch then freshen up before proceeding to afternoon game drive. Mount Kilimanjaro offers scenic backgrounds for photography Elephants, Lions, Cheetah, and Buffalo can be seen at the swamp area

Overnight: Ol Tukai Lodge

Ol Tukai Lodge is one of the best spots in the world to watch elephants with the backdrop of Africa’s highest mountain, Mount Kilimanjaro. Writers have described Ol Tukai and the surrounding Amboseli National Park as 'a home for the gods’. A place of rugged beauty, abundant water, lush green grass and forest, set like an oasis in the surrounding savannah shrubland. To crown it all, this is where you get one of the world's most awe-inspiring sights – dawn breaks and the sunsets over the 19,000-foot snow-capped dome of Africa’s highest mountain!

Day Itinerary

Rising early for good views of Mount Kilimanjaro before clouds build up over the summit, we set off for another stimulating game drive.

Amboseli is an excellent place to view a multitude of wildlife, including everything from Giraffes to

Baboons. (Optional visit to a Masai village is planned after breakfast)

Maasai warriors are famously known as the proud nomadic tribe whose legendary prowess in battle and singlehanded acts of bravery in fights with the wild animals are known across the world. A visit reveals the singing and dancing that are part of their daily lives and sacred rituals. A glimpse into their homes and social structure is a poignant experience.

Midday finds us at our lodge for lunch and afternoon rest, followed by another extensive game drive.

Tsavo West National Park

Located in Kenya's Coast Province, Tsavo West National Park stretches for over 9000 square kilometres and is one of Kenya’s most impressive parks. Tsavo West’s spectacular natural scenery includes volcanic cones, swamps, rocky outcrops and lava flows, mountains, river forests, plains, lakes, natural springs, and wooded grassland. The otherworldly, black, layering Shetani Lava Flows, named after the devil, spreads over the savannah. Other incredible natural attractions include the awe-inspiring Chaimu Crater; the Roaring Rocks, offering panoramic views; and the gorgeous Mzima Springs, the main source of water for the Tsavo River. Animal lovers will enjoy the chance to see highly endangered black rhinos at the Ngulia Rhino Sanctuary, and a list of other animals in the park including large herds of elephants, common waterbuck, eland, buffalo, gerenuk, fringe-eared oryx, impala, and Maasai giraffe.

Day Itinerary

Depart after after breakfast to Tsavo West National Park. The Park offers tremendous views with diverse habitats, ranging from mountains, river forest, plains, lakes and wooded grassland. Its plains borders with Tanzania. Check in at your lodge before embarking for your afternoon game drive.

Serena Kilaguni Lodge. Kilaguni Lodge is situated in the centre of Tsavo West National Park with view to the Chyulu Hills and the snow caped Mt. Kilimanjaro.

The Lodge as unique view to the water hole, which attracts zebra, buffalo, elephants, antelope, warthog, and many more. Each room has a view to the water hole or the Kilimanjaro.

Overnight: Kilaguni Serena Safari Lodge

One of the earliest national park lodges in Kenya, our Tsavo West Safari Lodge includes 56 guest rooms including five suites that feature remarkably large living areas, ranging from our Standard Rooms to Deluxe Suites and the resplendent Kilaguni Suite. Greet the morning with a bush breakfast or sip traditional sundowner cocktails at Lion Rock. Relax on the garden sundeck by our swimming pool. Savour seasonal, locally sourced cuisine in the dining room overlooking the water hole. Unwind in a day bed at the stone-built bar, sipping a perfectly mixed drink while taking in marvelous views of the Chyulu Hills. Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary

Situated at the foot of the Taita Hills, bordering Tsavo West National Park, Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary is a privately owned wildlife sanctuary in Kenya. It features beautiful wild scenery, luxury lodges, unique flora, abundant fauna and fascinating culture. Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary provides visitors with a wonderful opportunity to soak up the magnificent landscape featuring endless grass plains, woodland habitats and panoramic views of the picturesque Taita Hills. The sanctuary offers visitors a fantastic selection of exciting wilderness activities such as wild and secluded eco-safaris, day trips to local authentic villages, and interesting guided nature walks. It is home to a wide variety of wildlife including: African elephant, leopard, lion, cheetah, giraffe, zebra, hartebeest, impala, waterbuck, cape buffalo as well as over 300 species of birds.

Day Itinerary

Depart to Taita Hills Game Sanctuary arriving at Saltlick Safari Lodge in time for lunch After lunch, game drive in the sanctuary until sunset, and chances are good to see lions as well.

Dinner and overnight at Salt Lick Lodge. Salt Lick Lodge is especially memorable for its imaginative structure.

The lodge sits on stilts over a series of water holes. The two-storey towers, topped by peaked thatch roofs, are connected by open-air-bridges, creating an African fantasy of a medieval fortress. The lodge has been built with game viewing in mind - you can see animals in all directions because it offers spectacular open views.

Overnight: Salt Lick Safari Lodge

Located in the heart of the private Taita Hills Sanctuary, bordering Tsavo West National Park in south-eastern Kenya, Salt Lick Safari Lodge is a luxurious safari escape overlooking a waterhole and the vast Tsavo plains. Salt Lick Safari Lodge’s spacious, well-appointed double rooms are all ensuite, enjoy breathtaking views and are equipped with tea/coffee facilities and private bathrooms.
