The Masai Mara together with Tanzania’s Serengeti form Africa’s most famous wildlife park, the Masai Mara National Reserve. The image of acacia trees dotting endless grass plains epitomises Africa for many, then add a Maasai warrior and some cattle to the picture and the conversation need go no further. The undeniable highlight of the Masai Mara National Reserve is undoubtedly the annual wildebeest migration traversing the vast plains of the Serengeti and the Masai Mara. It is known as the largest mass movement of land mammals on the planet – with more than a million animals following the rains. Large prides of lions, herds of elephants, as well as giraffes, gazelles and eland can also be spotted in the reserve. Aside from horse riding safaris and traditional vehicle safaris, hot-air ballooning over the Mara plains has become almost essential.

Day Itinerary

Pick from your Nairobi hotel either in the morning depending with the availability of the flight leave to Masai Mara using Air Kenya from Wilson Airstrip.

The flight takes about 45min-1hr to arrive in Masai Mara. On arrival in Masai Mara you will met by our driver and he will pick you up and then proceed for the afternoon game drive.

This game drive normally goes until 1830hrs when he will drive you to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day Itinerary

Early pick up as at 0430am, then be driven to the Balloon Ride departure point, the ride normally takes not more than 1.5hrs, upon landing you will be served with Champagne breakfast (Optional)

Or leave after the breakfast with a your packed lunch for a full day game drive.

The Masai Mara is famous for its lions, elephants, leopard, rhino and buffalo that make the ’big five’ though luck is essential for spotting the other two namely which are rather shy and elusive. The park’s animal concentration and abundance is second to none. We will cater for a picnic lunch at the hippo pool where with luck you may spot crocodiles basking on the rocks.

Numerous plains game including antelopes, wildebeest, zebra, Masai giraffe can be seen as well as scavengers like hyena and vulture.

Wake up call for a early breakfast , and proceed for full day game drive, the early morning Game safari offers you a golden opportunity for early morning big 5 kills, African Jungle Male Lions are spotted along the trails as well as other Kenya big 5 including the documented the Big Cat Documentary, Lion, Leopard & Black Rhinos if lucky. Day Itinerary

After breakfast check out the lodge and then drive to the Airstrip to catch up with your flight back to Nairobi. You will arrive in Nairobi Wilson and you will be met by one of our drivers who will drop you at your hotel.
